Is it ever recommended to go back to the same therapist to work through the possible misconceptions to see what has been accurate and what has not been? Seems like a lot of this is relational, and simply finding a new relationship might be a way to avoid some of the work? Just wondering out here in therapyland.

Great question! I think that navigating the client-therapist relationship can absolutely be a part of the work of therapy. For some clients, relational dynamics are the #1 thing they need to work on; for others, it's #10 or #100. We don't know from this letter how Lost handled termination with their therapist, but I'd love for them to feel they are entitled to such a conversation in the future!
